Meet Maruo, a reluctant man roped into becoming a Game Master (GM) by his father, a developer at a gaming company. At first, Maruo isn’t thrilled, until he discovers something : the sensations players experience in-game carry over into real life. Intrigued (and maybe a little disturbed), he decides to test this theory. His target? Koharu Takashina, a quiet, unassuming girl who just wants to be someone special.
In the real world, Koharu is shy and overlooked, but in the game, she dreams of being admired, useful, and radiant, the complete opposite of her everyday self. Instead of the heroic role she envisioned, the system assigns her the “Courtesan” class.
Suddenly, her fantasy of being valued turns into a nightmare. Cornered by hardcore players in-game, Koharu experiences sensations so vivid they physically affect her.
