Sylvia’s the alchemist who just pulled off the mother of all street maintenance projects, talk about a resume booster. She saunters over to the local adventurer’s guild to introduce herself, and bam, she meets the guild master, Irene. Turns out Irene’s got mad respect for Sylvia’s mom, so they hit it off quicker than a match on dry grass. Everything’s peachy, right?
Wrong. Bad news comes crashing in like a wrecking ball.
“Emergency! There’s been a collapse at the western mines!”
Sylvia and Irene bolt out the door to save some trapped souls. But this place is crawling with monsters—like, the kind that make your skin crawl and your palms sweat. The poor schmuck they’re rescuing is shaking like a leaf in a tornado, totally terrified out of his mind.
So Sylvia does what any resourceful alchemist would do, she uses her body to give the guy some courage. He’s scared stiff but still manages to cling to her like she’s a life raft, fumbling and frantic. She’s getting tossed around, but somehow she holds it together and gets the job done.
Just when she thinks the coast is clear, Irene starts acting all kinds of weird. Like, red-faced, heavy-breathing weird.
Now they’ve gotta fix that busted tunnel, which means Sylvia’s gotta get real creative with her alchemy. And to do that? She’s gotta take in some monster… essence. Yep, things are getting wild. Her first quest ever, and she’s already pulling out all the stops with her “alchemy” tricks. Irene, the married guild master, is over there breathing like she just ran a marathon. Is she okay? Who knows. But this adventure’s only getting started, and it’s about to get a whole lot stickier.
