Our protagonist, Yukina, arrives at the hospital to visit her husband after a workplace injury. But instead of resting, she finds him doing what he always does: chatting up every woman in sight. Exasperated, she ignores him and sits down on a bench in the hallway. That’s when a young man offers her a cup of coffee. His name is Yuto, and he’s there visiting a woman he recently met — attentive, courteous, and effortlessly charming.
Watching him dote on his companion, Yukina can’t help comparing him to her husband. For her, he’s a pleasant distraction, something pretty to look at, a brief escape from her frustration. Nothing more. Or so she believes.
Then she spots a help-wanted notice: a new café, hiring, a chance to stand on her own two feet. She walks in and finds herself face to face with Yuto behind the counter. He hired her on the spot. Now it’s just the two of them, the master of a brand-new shop and a wife who has spent years devoting herself to her husband.
