It’s a regular morning in Takafumi and Makoto’s hood. Takafumi’s whipping up breakfast while Makoto’s already digging in, peeping the time before bouncing off to work. She’s been busier than a taco truck at a music festival, helping out her boss, Professor Yasuno. Fast forward to later that day, Takafumi gets summoned to the principal’s spot. His big dream? Opening his own gig. Thanks to Yasuno hooking him up with a spot recently, and the principal, Kanako, throwing down some cash, it’s all coming together like peanut butter and jelly. In the office, they hit him with the news that he’s gotta start prepping for the store’s big debut that very weekend. Come the weekend, Takafumi drops the bomb on Makoto that he’ll be ghost for a couple of days. Later that night, as Makoto’s putting in work in the teachers’ lounge, she gets a text from Takafumi: “We’re almost wrapped. The feedback is sizzling. I’ll spill the beans tomorrow.” While she’s texting back, Yasuno slides her a cup of joe. After a sip, she’s out like a light, and Yasuno, with a grin wider than a King Bed.
