Meiko is the kind of girl everyone notices but few truly know. Beautiful, quiet, and academically gifted, she moves through school with a grace that keeps most people at a distance. But there’s one person who sees a different side of her Hiroki, her childhood friend. Around him, the walls come down. She laughs easily, slouches on his floor, and lets herself simply exist without pretense.

On this particular afternoon, Meiko has once again made herself comfortable in Hiroki’s room, wearing far less than she would anywhere else. For Hiroki, it’s a familiar scene until it isn’t. His eyes drift without permission, and when Meiko catches him looking, the moment shifts. Embarrassment floods his face, heat rising to his ears as he fumbles for an excuse.
